Slaughterama 09

Today the weather was beautiful again and I could not stay inside. I decided to head down to Slaughterama for the day to relax and catch up with old friends. Best decision.

Slaughterama is a bike event held in Richmond, VA annually by group of bike kids from the city, the Cutthroats. It's a 3-day event, but the main event is held Saturday in an open pavilion on Belle Isle. There are lots of very unique individuals that attend to participate in lots of very unique events. I spent the day talking to people I haven't seen in forever and meeting new people from all over. My little adventure was definitely more motivating than anything I could have done in front of my computer.

I took a few pictures, including the one above. He's doing a back flip. Here are a few more.

trying to find photos to post made me realize that I really didn't take that many at all. sorry guys! I will find more documentation later to show you what it was really like! (EDIT: I've posted links to all the Slaughterama 6/2009 albums I can find on Flickr here!)
The photos below are from an old dam on the James River. It's blocked off, but some kids figured out a way to get around it and helped me get in. It was great. I would have taken more images, but it was creepy!-way too high up and no railing for the most part!

I thought that little guy was cute. I am sleepy!

  1. The little guy on the bottom is Bomberman! He's form a popular old-school video game. Glad to see that some graffiti artists have some taste!
