HUNT FOR OIL

This is from an exhibit by Dan Tague entitled "Cash Rules Everything Around Me." The series of folded dollar bills comments on American society and the perceived dishonesty present in the inner-workings of our current government.
"The appeal and power of money are the issues at the core of this series.  In a capitalist society cash rules everything.  Society teachers us that you can buy love, happiness, and status through possessions...Income tax, sales tax, and property tax all fund the war on terror, war on drugs, war on poverty, war on morality, etcetera.  In fact our consumer pursuit of happiness is the cause and solution for all of these wars."
The exhibit will run from March 29–April 19, 2008 at the Jonathan Ferrara Gallery in New Orleans.

an introduction

I've been planning to start this blog forever. I have a paper to write and I'm currently doing everything I can to convince myself that there are other, more important things that need to be taken care of first; this blog, for example.  I am not a writer, and am not particularly comfortable with anyone reading the words I write. Alas, I am eager to document the things I love and to share them with people I have yet to meet. I hope this works out.
